  4. We hope you enjoy this CD-ROM. If you have any questions or

  14. Disk Contents
  15. -------------

  17. On the CD-ROM there is a folder named ╥QuickTime 1.6.1╙. 
  18. Contained in that folder are the files that make up Apple's 
  19. QuickTime software. There is also a folder named ╥Sound Manager 
  20. 3.0╙.Contained in that folder are the files that make up Apple's new 
  21. Sound Manager software.

  23. The movie clips are contained in two folders: 90K and 200K. The 
  24. folder named 200K contains clips optimized to play back on fast 
  25. computers, and the 90K clips are optimized to play back on slower 
  26. machines.

  28. The GOODIES folder contains catalogs of other Simitar products you 
  29. can order.

  31. This package is based on QuickTime software and benefits from the 
  32. use of Sound Manager 3.0. If you need version 1.6.1 of QuickTime 
  33. and/or Sound Manager 3.0 installed, please follow the directions 
  34. below.

  37. Installing QuickTime and Sound Manager 3.0
  38. ------------------------------------------

  40. 1.  Drag the ╥QuickTime╙ and ╥Scrapbook╙ icons from the 
  41. ╥QuickTime 1.6.1╙ folder over your System Folder icon (not into the 
  42. open folder).
  43. 2.  Click OK in the dialog box that appears.
  44. 3.  Drag the ╥Sound╙ and ╥Sound Manager╙ icons from the ╥Sound 
  45. Manager 3.0╙ folder over your System Folder icon (not into the open 
  46. folder).
  47. 4.  Click OK in the dialog box that appears.
  48. 5.  Restart your Macintosh.

  51. Installation Notes
  52. ------------------
  53. This product uses the Kudo Image browser to view catalogs of the 
  54. various movies on this disk. Each of the catalogs is a self-
  55. contained archive that can be run by double-clicking on the catalog 
  56. file. You may run the catalogs from the CD or copy them to your 
  57. hard disk.

  59. If you wish to take advantage of Kudo╒s ╥Drag-n-Drop╙ feature ╤ 
  60. where you click on and drag a picture over an open window of 
  61. another program (i.e. Quark XPress), and the image is placed into 
  62. that window ╤ drag the "Claris" folder from the "Copy to System 
  63. Folder" folder onto the icon of the system folder on your hard disk. 
  64. This installs translators used by the catalogs. NOTE: If you already 
  65. have a "Claris" folder in your system folder, you can open the 
  66. "Claris" folder on the CD-ROM and copy only the files you need to 
  67. the "Claris" folder on your hard disk.

  70. QuarkXPress Users
  71. -----------------
  72. Copy the "Kudo¿ XT 1.0.3" file from the "Copy to XPress Folder" to 
  73. the XPress folder on your hard disk. This will allow drag-and-drop 
  74. to versions of QuarkXPress. prior to 3.2 .

  77. Kudo Documentation
  78. ------------------
  79. There is no printed documentation for the Read Only version of 
  80. Kudo. The main features you will use are the browsing and preview 
  81. features. There are no keywords or descriptions in the catalogs 
  82. that would be used in a search.
